Hoyran Wedre Country Houses A destination guest house if ever there was one, this complex of old and new stone  buildings made to look old is a rural oasis 18km west of Demre.  Some 500m up in the Taurus Mountains, with views of Kekova and minutes away from an important Lycian acropolis, Hoyran Wedre counts 16 rooms and suites done in traditional fashion (wattle-and-daub plastered walls) and decorated with antiques sourced in İstanbul. We love the pool shaped like a traditional cattle trough and the set meals (TL40) prepared entirely from localy grown produce( though some rooms have kitchens if you prefer to self-cater). It’s 3km south of Davazlar off the D400.
